Oh hell, Why I'm here I'll give my two cents. I think some of the boards should go such as, Sports, Computers and Cool pictures. You don't need a ton of categories to attract people and it kinda threw me off when I went from your site which is focused around photoshop then to the forum which was almost completely different.

I guess it wouldn't hurt if the forums and web site colors matched. look around for phpbb skins and see which one would match your website best. You can always change the colors and icons if it doesn't look right the first time you install it.

you know what just dinking around and looking at some color charts or something that explains what colors would be best togethor and such would be helpful, and the poor quality is most likely only due to the fact that it sounds to be like your first attempt at something this big, so I have to give you major props, that you are sticking with it, and asking for advice.

Much Improved!

A couple of comments if I may:

I agree, the background is a bit too bright but i don't think it takes anything away from the design.

Your centre I-frame loses it's bottom edge until you scroll down. The solution: Place the i-frame inside a DIV so the borders appear constant... for the content that appears inside the i-frame, do not have outer borders.

Biggest improvement is the header! It is simple and looks good!

I don't mind the nav buttons being seperated, but typically sites do not space them out. (ie: no space between buttons - just stack them). You may not want to do that unless you have more pages to link too... or you could stack them and use the extra space for something else.

I still find the nav buttons a wee bit hard to read with grey text on a grey background - but it's not too to bad.

The left column is longer than the right column in firefox but not in IE... causing the site to appear unbalanced. BUT THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for losing the "Optimized for Internet Explorer" - blasphemy! In firefox, there is extra v-space above and below the image (of the lake). Look for a vspace tag in your <img> or possibly a padding-top & padding-bottom in your css.

Centering is a good idea, but with the Google AdSense on (controlled by your host I believe) on narrower screen widths it could cause it to appear over top of your content... so I see why you've left justified the site.

Well, that's my 2 cents.

Mike.

Is your site still http://www.photoshoptt.lxhost.org/ ?

If so, it's currently off-line.

Back to serif fonts I see...

The center copy is too large, and need to be formatted... try full-justifying it or centering it or something...

Mike.

S'ok now.

I have to agree with Mike - the font is too large. That list of Photoshop book titles is still bugging me, too. If you want to feature PS books, why not do the job properly: create a separate page with the titles, a short description (such as you have appear in your "tooltips" - which get truncated in Firefox, incidentally), and links to their relevant pages on Amazon or Barnes & Noble so that your visitors can order them if they wish.
