Question The Question of All Questions

We all visit numerous gfx/art sites on a daily basis, and it seems that their always missing something that the
members would like. I know countless times that people have complained of how the forums were, how the forums looked, the mainpage was to simple
or to tech like. There have been complaints that the tutorials are not good enough, or that the downloads suck... (Simple complaints).

Issues such as staff not doing what they should be doing but instead become powerhouses over everyone. This is something we all probably have been victim too
in either running a Gfx/Art Site, or been a member of.

This brings me to the actual question... (Insert mysterious pause here). dun dun dun <--- or however it's done lol.

Anyways, I would like to know from you as the community of many fine designers, programmers etc, and from the staff here as to what your ideal gfx/art site is. What
would you like to see in those sites, and what or how would you like to see things being run.

I know this might be a stupid question, but it's interesting at most to see what and how people feel about their desires and their baby (Gfx/art).

------------------------------

If this is in the wrong section I completely apologize but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else other then just general off-topic questions.

Thank you for your time in reading this, and I hope you will give ideas to help out design companies, gfx sites, and many more. Various people who run gfx/art sites can see this and say, why didn't I ever think of that. Bare in mind there are sites out there that are next to perfect, but their not perfect lol.

Anyways again thank you.

BioRUST is the ideal site, of course.

No, really: you've got a Gallery, Tutorials, Resources, Battles and a Forum populated by a whole bunch of really talented, knowledgeable and friendly people - what more do you need?

I agree with tamlin

BioRUST would be the model i would try to imitate.

The success & acceptance of any community site boils down to the participation of it's members... BioRUST has found a forumla that makes it's members want to participate which provides resources for new members and therefore an opportunity for growth.

Congrats to whomever was responsible in bringing BioRUST to the world!

Mike.

I visited a lot of other forums before coming to this one and I think it's all about people you're trying to target. I'm not going to point fingers but before coming here I saw a lot graphic related website/forums out there and I was interested in them a lot but it was the community that made me stray away from those sites. For example, there was one that had a lot of members on at any givin time, good tutorials and such but all that every was talked about was creating signatures zzzzzz Another thing is the members weren't very helpful and if you were new to photoshop you usually got a comment on your work that went like this, " ROFL NOOOB U SUX"

As to what I would like to see in a site...I guess everything biorust offers. Helpful members, well explained tutorials, useful downloads, and the list goes on.

YES!! That's exactly the same reason I joined here at BioRUST! This seems to be the only forum where so-called "newbies" get a bit of help and respect.

anyamet04, Given your 3 posts, it's no wonder you keep running out. Stick around, post some work, talk to some perople. You'll learn as much if not more than you can get from the downloads from the site.

I agree, it's the people here that make a big difference. I was a member at HOW design forums, and although I think criticism is good (it's how you grow as a designer), but they take it a bit too far. If you ever want to feel humble, post anything to that website and see what sort of feedback you get. Be prepared to have your best work ripped to shreds though.

I feel that people should be a little more critical on here to help everyone improve their designs, but as a whole it's certainly nicer to have a friendly core of people here to help give aspiring designers more confidence.
