Just me or are people just rude to newbies

Everytime I go to say welcome to newbies there is loads that knows one has said welcome which I think is rude cause I no one welcomes them then they will not come back to site that cause no one even made the effort to welcome them.

maybe biorust should assign at least 3 members to welcome new members and also assign at least another 3 as commenters for submissions... :P

I usually pass by there to say hi and welcome at least one or two of the newbies. I think people disregard it and I dont know the reason why. So maybe it should be required so that newbies also feel the love too. Maybe there should be a requirement also that those that just join should be required to post maybe a certain amount of posts before being able to download things or getting access to the web index. Because I know back in the day I used to join just to view things and not post. But since I love it here I always come back. This is the actually first forum that hasnt told me that Im stupid or something rude. So thats what I think..

yes, i volunteer as a commenter... on 2D artworks and photography only...

I couldn't agree more - I've looked at lots of other forums, but this is the first one that I've ever wanted to join in with, precisely because everyone here seems to be treated with friendliness and respect (even if they are a "newbie"). I like to think that I welcome my fair share of new members, but it helps if they post a bit more information than just "Hi, my name's xxxxxx and I'm new." - there's only a limited number of times I can write "Hi and welcome to BioRUST!" before it starts to feel a bit false (although I suppose it does boost my post count...)

I lurk here all the time, don't post much but love the entire site. When I posted my intro a few months ago several peopkle welcomed me and I must say that I apprectiated it and have stuck around even if you don't see me!
