Oh, please help. Vectormask-problem.

Hi there.

My Photoshop 7.0 has gone all crazy. Every time I add a new figure, every time I just do anything, it automaticly adds a new vectormask for that object. Wich, of course, I don't want it to. Otherways I wouldn't ask you to help me.
-Now, what have I done? I must have accidently pressed or triggered something, right? I really can't remember having any problem like this before. Actually, I have seen this many times in Photoshop CS, for example, but this happening to me? I couldn't believe my eyes this morning.

So if you could just tell me what I can do to stop this vectormasking, I would be so happy. Yes, really. I'm not kidding.

I think you might have the "Shape Layers" option selected. It should be on the toolbar. There's three options to choose from "Shape Layers", "Paths", and "Fill Pixels".

When you select one of the Shape tools, you should see the toolbar that Jacorre mentioned at the top of the screen. There are three buttons grouped together - the one on the left is Shape Layers, the middle one is Paths and the one on the right is Fill Pixels. Have a look at the attached screenshot - the three buttons are circled in red. Shape Layers is selected - this means that whenever you draw a shape, you also get a Vector Mask on the same layer. Try selecting Fill Pixels.

If you don't see the toolbar at all, select Window > Options to show it.
