Word Problems...

For some of our coursework we have to add toolbars and the like to Word. This is very easy in itself, but the school security policy has disabled the "customize" option that you see when you right-click the toolbar, which we need to get to.

It's almost certainly a key stored in the registry somewhere, but I've been Googling for the past hour without any luck. If someone could shed some light on the issue, I'd really appreciate it.

And no the Admin's can't fix it - they've tried. Idiots the lot of them.

Maybe ask at the message boards of http://www.virtualplastic.net or http://hack.modzine.net/ some of the guys around there are registry freaks, they know alot about that kind of things.

So they've set you a task which is impossible to complete? LOL, how utterly typical of academic institutions not doing their homework...

Teacher = old (well not all) = computer illiterate. Teachers + computers doesn't go together.

It's not just teachers either - our school has four Admins, and all but one of them has asked me for help before!

A lot of kids in my school are computer illterate as well. In my webdesign class this one girl didn't know where to find Macromedia Flash on the computer. (Start > Programs > Macromedia > Flash) She had to ask the teacher for help. And guess what! She wanted to go into a profession that used computers, such as webdesign.

It's ridiculous. I wish I had screenshots of her webdesign. Yuck! I could make a better layout using MSPaint. Honest.

I went to both of those sites - one it's impossible to post on due to a server glitch, and the on other the thread was deleted within a few minutes of my posting it.

you have to remember dudes that all of us here have much more experience than the average computer user. I can navigate and build computers probably with my eyes shut. We find it distressing because we find it so easy when they find it so abnormal to use a machine.

It does p*ss me off when some one wants to become a professional designer when the work is complete crap. At the college taster day for a graphics course. Many people there had never used a pc for design ever and the people who had, their work is just sh*te. People who mainly hang out on forums in most cases are actually pretty good and experienced with their knowledge of design.

Well, if you're a member of a very nice forum then you can also get the feedback from others. That, of course, helps you out a lot.
