Problem with old computer

Hi, a few months ago i took an old computer to pieces ........ dont ask why :P
yesterday i put it back together, but im not sure if the wires to the motherboard were pluged in right. I then switched it on and heard about 3 beeping noises from the internal speaker but their was just a blank screen. the drives all power up and theirs memory inserted. I dont have any idea whats wrong with it, but it could be 2 reasons.
1...ive thrown away some kind of circuit board, it had the modem attached to it and also i think the graphics card was attached to it, although i dont know what they look like.
2....the wires to the motherboard are plugged in wrong.
I think its more likely to do with reason 1 because graphics card is to do with the picture on the screen.
if you can give me any help id appreciate it..............thanks

The three beeps you hear will tell you what's the problem -- are they long or short beeps? Just google the type of computer and the beep code (ex: Short, long, long). Try that first.

Ok ive found through typing the number of beeps on google that its a Base 64K RAM failure, and i dont think this is the RAM you plug in but the systems ram on the motherboard. If im correct then i think my main boards bust.
