Wheeeeew -- sorry about the long time no post back.. I've been playing Oblivion NON STOP !!!
Yeah, we are all right... This game is officially BAD A$$ !!!
But hey, Man1c MOg, thanks for posting up a small list. Glad to see some people see what I am talking about. I was worried I would get reamed by some Oblivion "do gooders". Like I said, game rocks, but maturely speaking there will always be problems with such involved games.
So , heres a SMALL version of my list:
#1- I agree about the lock-picks.
#2- I also agree about the crashes, I had a couple that seemed to be "area" related. Like every time I got to this particular area, it froze up on me. WEIRD.
#3 (the biggest issue for me)- Have you seen the way you walk ?? If you do NOT run, and do NOT have a weapon drawn and you WALK, you walk like a GIRL or basically like a sissy(in the butt area). That IS and would be ok though, (if you play a girl or a homosexual man of coarse), BUT if you want to play a big, brawny, buffed, HETEROSEXUAL, cool guy, BUTT kicking MAN, it just doesn't look right. Morrowind WASN'T like this, and it seriously looks ridiculous. Even my own daughter (7) saw it and LAUGHED and said I "walked like a sissy, and I am swaying my butt like a girl" !!!!!. After bragging about the game to everyone for over a year, then finally getting it, once they saw that, they all LAUGHED, I felt betrayed. Like I said, it would be cool, but seriously,,,,,,, Morrowind's male characters did NOT walk that way !!. To me , a BIG draw back and it KILLS me every-time I see it.
#4- The new stolen goods rule is LAME !! period. In reality, no one would EVER know your good was stolen. The idea was HALFway cool, but they should have made it so if you stole successfully (undetected) the item would be sellable anywhere that would normally buy it. But I like the old way better no doubt.
#5- You can't sleep outside of towns anymore in the wilderness !! that kinda sucks.
#6- When in 3rd person view and running around hardcore, there is something a little more herky jerky with the way the camera movement is.
(though acceptable, Morrowind was not like this).
#7 (this one really kills me too)- The map sucks big time. No zooming out to see the BIG picture ???????
Who the f%#k thought of that idea ? At least you can scroll, but the area of vision that you can scroll is TINY. Ridiculous. All they needed was a "zoom map in and out" button. (unless there is, then can someone tell me?)
#8- I liked Stilt Striders better than horses. I was waiting upon the day I could ride my own Stilt Strider in real time from town to town and SEE it.
So out comes Oblivion, I was excited, and they have DAMN HORSES for travel. What made Morrowind so great was the mystery of what the heck and where the heck you were. Like the animals, and MAINLY the way of travel. "Stilt Striders" were just GREAT !! Like what were they ? They were scary, weird, and REALLY MADE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE IN A DIFFERENT LAND. I am not saying use Stilt Striders again, but some odd, scary thing like that again would have spelt out the mood WAY BETTER (to me). Horses are way too common. Who thought of that ? Horses are LAME !! Regular, and BORING. Actually whats next ?? is Bethesda gunna give us CARS ? Hey why don't we use guns and car jack too then ?? (remind you of anything ?) - BUT IF I were to accept them, they should be WAY faster like a real horse is in comparison of how fast the character can run. Also, (I don't know if this will change as I level up [I am hoping]), but you SHOULD be able to attack while on your horse. Anyone can do that !! COME ON !!...
#9- The slaughter-fish are WAY too tough.

People complain about this game ???? WHERE ?? All I see is people praising it, which is why I was scared to post my few LOGICAL REALISTIC complaints. But I do seriously see your point. A bunch of no good complainers is the last thing we need on such a excellent game.
But lets ALL remember folks, NOTHING is perfect. Even your favorite music band. Like them for their great stuff YES, but admit when they release a bad song (because they ALL do). Some die hard fans just can't seem to do that. Its weird. And then that is what causes bad music to invade our society, because the band ACTUALLY thought that last "bad" song was good.
But if we were all realistically thinking, we would say, HEY, that last song wasn't as good as your last hit. THEN they would come back twice as hard to get back that "hit quality" they had.
Now I am NOT saying Oblivion is a "bad song" by Bethesda. Its actually a GREAT ONE !! Possibly the BEST !!. But even if its a great game, you are suppose to tell them what will make it even better for next time, or especially tell them what you do NOT like about this game (no matter how small it is). It is how things will progress for the BETTER.
