Blender isn't blender

Well, realizing that I would need as much 'start-up' help as I could get, I rushed out and bought a $50.00 book on Blender. I figured it would be close enough to the current version - wrong! I downloaded 2.41, the book is the 2.3 Guide. Very little help since most of it has been modified to the point that some terminology is different in some instances.

I'm beating myself to pieces trying this and that to work this out. For example: skinning is not easily accomplished at all since the buttons window layout is different and some items are totally missing - 'subsurf'. I haven't been successful with any skinning at all. The mouse head seems impossible - cant get the 'join' (Ctrl-J) to work at all.

This is exciting though, but the challenge is making my chair sore!

Thanks,
Bill C.

Bad for you... I have never used Blender, but I think you can search for "Blender's Video Tutorials for new things in Blender 2.4" or go to producer's page and find some docs "What we have changed in 2.4".

Positive thinking!!

Only reporting thoughts, not trying to relay any unhappiness or negativity. Sorry to force judgement on anyone at, or just over the edge!?!?

The totally undeniable fact about Blender is that it was FREE, and there are forums with help and answers, and interest. Thanks Gentlemen.
