AHA! Well, this may indeed be the one and only time when promotional material may help! Check out this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/photos...wfeatures.html

Personally I don't think there's much point in upgrading CS -> CS2, but the workflow improvements in CS1 are pretty massive, so if you have an earlier version you simply *SHOULD* upgrade for the sake of your sanity.

Just for giggles I went and searched EBay last night for Photoshop CS2 and found folks sell keys for the program really cheap. Has anyone purchased anything like this from EBay and if so how does one go about using it. I have never purchased anything from them.

Danger Will Robinson, DANGER! Ebay is fantastic for physical items, but software is so easily pirated that you have to be ULTRA careful that you get a correct license that hasn't been nicked from somewhere or, worst of all, a key that is totally counterfeit.

That said, if you are still in an academic institution, Adobe do student&teacher licenses for all their applications are *VERY* economical prices. You might have to jump through a few extra paperwork hoops, but the end result is a big financial saving!

Well the reason I asked as I noticed that a good deal of it comes from the UK, I was just wondering if there was some special deal Adobe has overseas. I also had to convert Pounds Sterling into Dollars but the amount is amazing low a little over 8 Pounds, well mom always told me if it sounds to good to be true it is probably false.

Thanks I guess I will just spend the 169$ for the upgrade.

Thumbs down Do Not Buy Cheap Versions!

I got burned on that recently. I'm currently fixing the whole mess. What a nightmare! I bought CS Suite online for like 1/3 the cost and find out like a year later that it was a bootleg/illegal copy. They sold it to me as bundled software that was an "overrun". So me flags: not registerable. No tech support. No manuals. Be very aware of the "cheap" discount sales. And if you do buy, make sure you call the software manufacturer and double check to make sure yours is a legal copy, otherwise make sure you get your money back!

If you did buy one that isn't a legal copy and paid with credit card, call the credit card company and talk to them about fraud.

Vanishing Point is a new feature that allows you to do things that would, otherwise, be rather difficult.
Plus there's a new Image Warp feature, which is similar, I believe, to the SQUIZZ plug-in (if I remember correctly).
Whether or not these new features are worth the upgrade from CS is debateable, but, as M0g said, it's well worth updateing an older version.
