Poll: How many of you have artistic backgrounds?

maybe it will come, and you have different kind of artist you know maybe you're better in making other kind of artistic things.

i'm not that good a designer, probably due to the fact that is bores me and i'd rather be programming, but when i need to i can turn out what i want.

i don't really have an artistic background. the only people in my family artistic are my grandfather who is a graphic designer, my mum who did a BA of fine arts at university, and my brother who likes painting and freezing dvd's to sketch gorey scenes in movies like Jason-X.

if you could musically, my dad's side is pretty musical; my dad played piano when he was younger, two of his sisters play music professionally (one in the auckland symphony orchestra and one plays solo flute in canada) and his other sister played music formerly aswell. there's next to no music on my mum's side.

it's quite interesting to think about inherited abilities. i was at... my mum's cousin's wedding party a few weeks ago, and was having a good old chat to all my mum's cousins (there's about 10 of them, all similar ages; around 25-35 [shes the oldest, older than them ]) and they were discussing all the things they used to do when they were at high school (coincidentally the same high school i'm at). stuff like sports running in mum's side of the family, they all played the same sports i play, and about half of them were in love with metallica at school (my favourite band).

'm not sure about being 'born artistic' but i believe in interest in art that would make a person enjoy learning new art knowledge and experiencing (and experimenting) new skills and technique.

both my parents are artists. my father is an artists who gets $15,000 for a single painting, and my mother is an art teacher.

well I've always been told I was talented artisticly (friends and family, so its rather biased) and I always did well in art class, but I suspected my teacher was a complete idiot and didnt know what he was talking about, so I don't think I'm all that talented but I do decent work.

Im not a artistic person but i love art and give me a subject n some pic, i'll hook it up.

I studied at art college for four years in the south of England. Have never made a living from it though as I dropped out and toured Britain in a band for a while and did the hippy thing that all art students tend to do! It's only within the last year or so that I have got back into creating stuff once more and I am having huge fun now that I am back into it!

My father and my grandfather were photographers, I finish photography college, but that's all....... I use Photoshop to play with my pictures/layouts and design digital scrapbooking kits

I do not have a artistic background either and stumbled across photoshop was amazed at what you could do with it and my love for it is always growing

I have a little background in art, but not much. Almost all the stuff I do I taught myself by just playing with it until I get something I like.
