Getting Bored..
Ok, so I spend my nights following tutorials either completely or partial and messing with my image on my own.. Well, Im starting to get a little bored with Photoshop sadly. I look at each tutorial and im like no.. boring.. no boring.. I mean Ill always use photoshop but I just think I should start messing with another program I have.. Ive never really used anything else on my Ps cs sutie except golive and ps. Image ready only when adding the picture images for my web index, but in your opinion.. which program would be more fun or something else I should mess with? I have Adobe - Illustrator, Image Ready, InDesign, Macromedia Fireworks, Flash, Freehand.. What else do you folks work with?? Any ideas..??

Work with the programs you have and create something truely powerful. Something new. Don't get by on tutorials. Get by the fuel that is your creativity.
Cheers

I personally use the tutorials I find for practice as a starting point. I start next semester but I'm taking a class for using the entire adobe line of products. But just from what I have learned on my own by either trial and error or through tutorials for various sites I'm already a step ahead of the average person taking the class. Tutorials are a very good resource imho. If I may make a suggestion take up learning html/xhtml/CSS and other web design coding to make a further use of your photoshop talents.
And now I feel somewhat silly after reading your profile... None the less there is always room for learning new web tools, for example take your knowledge of e-commerce and make a ajax version of a shopping cart. Again just some humle ideas...

blackhawk is right about expanding your knowledge by taking up html/xhtml/CSS, etc. In addition with every application that you learn you lower the learning curve for the one after that. Pretty soon you are able to learn new programs quickly.
From the programs that you listed as having I would pick Illustrator and
Flash as the next in line.
But don't stop working PS, integrate it into the new stuff you learn.
Flash is a great program and makes beautiful web pages. You will find that there are loads of sites where you can find kick butt tutorials.
Good luck, hope this helps.

That's why you're getting bored, you're using tutorials. I looked at them and tried them for a couple months and I got no satisfaction or want out of it because basically someone was telling me what to do word for word so I decided to forget them take what I did learn and learn the rest on my own.

I agree to a point. Sometimes I reach the point where I just have no more fresh ideas. So I start flippin' thru mags, books, ads, fliers, etc. to see what I can see. Then I find something of interest and just start working it, either to see if I can dup the image and/or jack it up more. So at some point the tuts can take you only so far then it is up to you to step it up, but it does help to have some direction of focus from time to time.

Photoshop never ceases to amaze me. I've used it everyday for business & fun since I got Photoshop 3 so many years ago. Endless options, endless combinations, endless tweaking, endless new things to learn ... how can one get bored? I rarely follow tutorials or crack a manual, I'm pretty much a point and click user - lots of experimentation. It helps to have a purpose, like a challenge/competition or just that burning need to make something fantastic. Maybe just dig deeper into photoshop - make some stellar styles or learn to use paths (I'm still exploring them) make your own brushes then create a great piece of art with them. Endless, endless.
If you're still bored, maybe dig into Flash, or a 3D app. and do modeling!

You definitely will learn something if you continue reading forum threads, viewing resources and asking questions. There are no dumb questions, only unanswered ones.

If you want something really demanding and along the same lines, why not try a poser program?
