The Chronicles Of Narnia

So yeah, that new movie thats coming out.. Well not new movie, real life remake. My son is so in awe of this movie. I will take him to see it, he dont turn 2 till febuary. But Im sure he'll sit through some of it.. hopefully. But my question is how long before its released on DVD? I looked on Ebay, of course its not released yet, but you know people do break rules, they have the regular animated ones, but this movies looks good I want to see it also. I like this kinda stuff. So yeah, how long do you guys think before its released on DVD? Are you going to go see it??

I'll definately be seeing it when its on in the cinema! I have to see the new Harry Potter film first though. I tried to see it on the release day, but the cinemas were booked up from the second they opened, and I didn't fancy waiting until the midnight showing... and then having to fight for non-prebooked seating...

I highly doubt it will do well, but apparently people like it. Just not my cup of tea.

Daughter 16 saw it yesterday and grandson saw it 2 days ago. Appears to be doing well. People I have spoken with are impressed with digimation and special effects. My bet is it will be at least 12 months before this version is out on DVD/CD. If you have never read the orginal book you should, it is very good. Some language sounds funny, but, remember, it was written in 1932. I plan on seeing movie after Christmas, no money right now!

I went to see it on Wednesday, and I hated it... I found it really hard to connect with the characters, the only one I could even like was Lucy. And I thought it was far too dark for its target audience - should small children be shown films where cute little animals are tortured, turned into stone and just generally hurt? I also didn't like the storyline (what had the children done to deserve to be monarchs, apart from be human?), although since it was based on a book the story couldn't have been changed that much.

The author is the same author as a book called the "BFG", which is dark for its target age, kinda takes after the Grimm Fairytales, which are all very dark, and have been lightened because people have gotten an attitude that children should be overly protected.

Face it parents, your children learn faster then you can stop them, it is inevitable, and come on, you remember when you were a kid, all the ways you got around your parents, you kids are your kids, they will also..

/end rant.

Good movie, brought my lil' sister over, I really enjoyed it, the storyline is very well done.

I think BFG was written by Roald Dahl, the Narnia books were done by C.S. Lewis.

I saw it, and i was very impressed with the effects, but i was a little dissapointed by the story telling. Too much happened too fast, but the book was like that too. If I had to rate it upon how well it translates from the book, it's say it was EXCELLENT.
