Siggie Creation Philosophy/Methodolgy??

Hi,

I'd like to make a siggie/avatar thingy. I'm not sure how to go about it. I mean, how do I decide what to put on siggie? Are there a siggie creation philosophies/methodolgies?!?

Normally the way I would go about it is to find some type of theme you want to create it around. It seems the popular thing to do today is some anime/game image/render, but I personally think those are getting a bit stale. Once you have a theme in mind, think of what you want it to convey. Make sure the sig mataches yourself, they usually work better when they seem to be an extension of yourself. Then go and experiment. Usually starting off with Render Clouds and Difference Clouds is a good idea.

Quite a lot of sigs are made using filters and such. But you could also find some cool burshes and do whatever.

Lastly I would just say to always remember to utilize all of the area you can. Bigger isn't exactly better, but smarter use of available space is very helpful.

MY avatar is a paintball breaking open because I enjoy playing paintball when I can. My Sigs are all kinda abstract cause it's my favorite art type.

Really, they should be something you like/enjoy. Best thing to do it figure out something you like, put it into a sig then play around with it until you end up with something you like.

I havent made one for myself yet but someone requested one if you want to take a a look at what ive made for him, check it out at The Market Place under Kamikazee69's post. That one I used an anime graphic to the right, I used a grunge brush to take some of the animes pic off, then used a sphere grunge brush for the background and then just a font that made me feel the word "kamakazee".. so yeah. basicallyl ike bub and gold said, a sig is usually about what you like or your fav ps or if you use psp, brushes, filters colors and what not. good luck! just experiment. do a few and your bound to fall in love or like one that you do. practice makes perfect hun.. have fun with it.. also, if your looking for ps tutorials for sigs, which im not sure if they have anything, but if you look for tuts for your graphics program im sure theres something you can use.. heres the thread.. http://forums.biorust.com/showthread.php?t=56 (Adobe Photoshop FAQ) or check out pixel2life.com .. take care

Ok. I added a pink avatar with the background I made practicing the liquify tutorial! Will have to deal with siggie later.

Yup that's the method I go for also

My siggy needs to reflect something about me as a person or my hobbies and passions. I adore Gemma Ward (Australian model), so I began my avatar with her picture and just kept adding more color and brushes, styles..etc

I will keep that in mind while I'm playing with the siggie/avatar creation. Right now I think I might use the tutorials as the base. Just for now.

Wow... I just realized how little sense that made. I hope you understand what I meant.
