Live 8

Did any one else watch it.

I thought the highlights at the London Hyde park were:

Travis
Elton John
R.E.M

U2 and Coldplay absolutly stank. I had never seen ****ter performances in a long time.

Yeh I watched it. REM and Elton John were good, though I didn't like the guy Elton was singing with on children of the revolution. My favourites had to be the Who and Pink Floyd. I have to agree with you on the whole U2 and coldplay thing though they both were pretty bad. If you don't like U2 then you have to read this article.

gee wow agression. Looks like someone needs to get laid. Yes I guess most stars want to sell out but I have no particular interest in them. Their music becomes weak and their individualism is lost. They become part of crowd that wants to promote good doings etc just to boost record sales on their crappy material.

back on topic now.
I don't think this live 8 concert will have any impact on the G8 super power meeting. Africa cannot be helped. I have travelled around Africa and I believe it is beyond help. Even if we did cancel all their debts and open up better trading deals, there will always be poverty. Things could change but I give it about a century.

Little summary list of why it can't be helped yet.

The climate
The people's way of life. Most of them are to chilled
Lack of education
Disease
Corrupt goverments
Transportation problems

I relate the problem Africa has to Russia during the early 20th century.

I won't get into the arguement of whether he is the best man for his job (being an American Republican, I am drawn to his support.) I will state that he did bring America out of a slump on 9/11, and has done wonders to make it apparant to the world that we can still fight a decent war.

In America, we have two major groups, Democrats and Republicans. Democrats want to rule people, have the Government monitor everything that we need, baby us. Republicans expect us to make our own lives, and decide on how we live on our owns. Each has good points, and weak points.

From the American press, we often make fun of Blair as opposed to our own leader, but in the end, does anything any leader say really mean much in the long run, not really.

Ahhhh, the British press is mean - we make fun of both Bush AND Blair. One thing is for certain though - I'm glad im not in Gleneagles right now. Those protests are gonna get big and probably very nasty!

PS. Nah, I won't get into politics much here either. My view of all politicians in general is very dim, and I'd rather waffle nicely on the forums about art than get into a war with peeps on my political opinions.

It's not aggression, it's love tapping, but only because you're so damn platonic and I love tapping the platonism you exude through that pasty, Brit ass of yours :P.

@Mog-I did not know that, my little friend.

"Decent war" should be a oxymoron. War is never decent...especially when the media gets involved. We don't want to go into his whole tax cut scheme and who it benefits, in fact, I like to remain neutral on most political subjects because of the sensitive impression it places on people, but in reference to all politicians: "they can go **** themselves and their fictitious promises."

You're right with that last statement. It's just everything they say is like sugar-coated poop.
