Dedicated Server Offers

I was thinking of moving my server hosting provider over to Amenworld. They offer decent packages, reasonable prices and, best of all, they are UK located, so i'll not have to spend fortunes ringing up America when the server crashes. What do you guys think? Any experiences with this company?

Looks pretty good. How often does the server crash and cause you to make the call? If it saves you money then I'm all for it. This is an awesome website that you supply us with!

I've noticed quite a few downtimes within the past month.

m0g, I suggest it. Try finding out about the host as much as you can before you make the move.

Well, they are the UK's leading ISP and their download speeds are said to be fantastic! TBH my old host (hostcentric) are ok, but their network seems to be very dodgy, and pages take odd and variable times to load... as if their network is overloaded or buggy.

Anyway, if I do decide to move ISP, it'll all be done later this weekend... So prepare for mucho disruption!

A suggestion would be when you move your domain, to place the forum on the old site in a read only, or close it until the move is done, that way no posts are lost in the move.

Changes to DNS should not take that long. Disruption should also be minimal.

Lol, we'll be able to put that theory to the test when I move the server tomorrow. If when the DNS updates we are left with a flaming inferno of a webby, then you know i'm not quite so fantastic at planning ahead...
