Laptop Crossroads

I need an honest opinion.

Plain and simple: what would be a good company to buy a notebook computer from for graphic design?

My gut says HP, but I'd like to hear otherwise (by "otherwise" I mean otherwise and a few details as to why it would be a good deal).

Thank you for your time.

Graphic design? Easy... Apple -- Apples are always the best graphics computers.

Non-Mac? All about the same I guess? I personally don't like HP (unless I need a boat anchor) so I'm major biased

I've seen a shedload of laptops and i'm always impressed by the Sony Vaio ones. No idea if they are good spec-wise, but they are small, light, and tough. If you are gonna be carting your laptop around lots then these are qualities you'll definately want...

My supervisor at work used to sell computers and knew a lot about Vaio's. Now that I have a second opinion I think I'll go for a Vaio although I still should weigh out my options.

As for Macs I would get a G4, but I'm planning on using it for more than graphic design.

Thanks for your help, guys.

Dude, I got a dell! In fact I'm posting from it right now. Hopefully it doesn't explode from the "memory-eating adobe program monsters".
