I know what you mean - I've been in a number of clans, but I've only really found one that I actually like (i.e. my current one). I found the same problem with a few of my gaming clans. It all became about competition and "who's the best?". Too many "kids" I knew were getting arrogant over something as trivial as a game.
I managed to find a clan with people aged 20 to 34 and I realized how much of a difference it makes. I no longer have to deal with inner clan drama and teen angst except for a few occasions when one pre-pubescent punk ass sneaks in under an alias to cause trouble. Playing for fun is so much better....especially when one of your teammates talks like a pirate before he kills somebody.
