Oooh is it good? I 'thought' about buying it but I'm not sure. I think about buying a lot of games but I don't lol.

Hmmm, well, I *DO* think that HL2 is a great game... but it could have been fantastic! One thing it sorely misses is deathmatch! I mean, DM *MADE* the original HL for me, and I spent many hours of my university life blasting my friends to death over LAN. To remove a feature that brought the original game such fame and fortune seems like commercial suicide to me.

That said, the single-player game is well thought out, with strong action, a decent plot, and great sound... but all just ends a little bit suddenly! Don't get me wrong - its not a short game by any means, but the abrupt ending will take you by surprise (and, at the same time, remind you that there WILL be a sequel).

Soooo... In short... BUY this game if you are into FPS single-player games... but don't expect thrilling DM as it doesn't exist (yet).

I played this game and to say the least im disappointed. Im thinking this game is gonna be like its predecessor. Its gonna only live because its easily moddable. Anyways i played the 2 first missions of single-player which was supposed to be oh-so-great and in fact i think that HL1 was a whole lot better at building climate then its sequel is. This game was supposed to kill all other, instead it ended up like doom3: its good for one weekend and thats all, mostly because all the players actually wanted something from the sequel of one of the best games in the industry, so no slacking off this time. They ruined it nevertheless...

My conclusion is you should never think that a sequel of one of the best games the world has ever seen would be even better. Nope, thats impossible with fps games. Instead i look to new titles like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. That game just cant be unsuccesful. Its gonna rule halflife2 in all ways when it comes out and i know it.
