text effect's in flash cs3

hi

i just got cs3 flash had been using swish max 3 which is very easy to use and understand, but wanted cs3 flash so i could start designing dance club flash flyer's that need more text effect's and feature's that swish max 3 could'nt do.

anyone starting flash should use swish max 3 as i was advised by people on biorust forum a while ago

anyone know where all text effect's are for cs3 as it's a totally different set up from swish max 3, are the text effect's could filter's instead.

i looked up some of the help in the programme but as you know it can be very confusing some time's, if someone could tell me where all the text effect's are that make the text move around and different effect's then i'll like to know, i think i have a long weekend ahead to learn all the new basic stuff.

once again swish max 3 then cs3 flash after learning

thanks andy.

A lot of info here

You're using flash to move text around right?

At this moment I'm using CS2 so it might be a bit different( I know the actionscript is). But if you want something to move in flash you will have to animate it, or step by step or with an motiontween or with an actionscript.

Step by step,
There should be an time schedule somewhere in the screen, now you can add or delete frames there, and layers to. By activating the union thingy(under the time schedule) you can see what the position was of you're object in the three frames before the one you're in now. So you can put you're text exactly where you need it....If you move something in frame number three it will not change anything in frame number two.

Motion tween,
This is a little trick, you just place the text in frame #1 where you want it, assuming that frame #1 is already a keyframe. Then you have to make an keyframe at an other time, like frame 12(this could mean that the animation duration will be 1 second...you can change this by changing the FPS found in the properties of the scene(deselect everything, look at the bottom of you're screen)). In this second keyframe you have to put the text where you want it to be after that amount of time. Then you select a frame in the middle - right mouse click - tween.

Actionscript,
This means you will have to write a script that deals with the coordinates of the text. If you want to do this, or just need more info on this subject tell me and I will post info on it, as this is quite a lot you could maybe start with one of the above....this is however the best way for great effects for you're text....

hi unleash

thanks for all the information this flash cs3 is a lot more confusing than i thought it was going to be, it took me a while to learn photoshop when i first started off year's ago, look's like it's going to be the same with flash cs3, got to learn all the new jargon etc.

step by step, motion tween & action script i'll give them all ago and see what i can do.

once i get into it the i'll really start enjoying it, it's just hard when you learn something new.

action script i'll give a miss as it sound's far to much for me to learn as you most likly know i don't want to learn any html as i have'nt got the time or will power to.

anyway thanks for information unlesh.

i'll let you know how i do.

andy.
