moive lagging

i recently created flash movie for a new product that's coming out and basically i had a few problems with the movie as the frame rate was jerking and moving really slowly once it was embeded into and html page.

here the finished item

Hair Straighteners from OzHead Australia

i fixed the problem as a temp by incresing the frame rate by 3 frames a second as this keeps the movie roughly in time with the music overlay by making certain part were it isnt lagging go faster if anyone can figure out why or know why this might be happening then please let me know!

i am using flash 8 and using alot of filters on the text and so on so i imagine this is where the problem is steming from but i was mainly wondering if there was something i could do to counteract this. i.e. the way the movie file is broken up and wht action script i use and so on.

atm the movie is just one big long file would it help at all breaking it up in to scenes ( although ) the audio track is an event so would doing so stop it when the scene changes.

if anyone can help i would be greatful! lol <-- i just put this in for fun! lol

you can't just have a flash embedding without loading it first.

It's not that big, but the slower you connection the worse it will look.

If you don't want to make one yourself you can download one and moddify it at Newgrounds.com - The Problems Of The Future, Today!

I hope this helps.

The flash stopped dead after the "Are you ready?" turned white. (I'm on a Mac using Safari with a cable connection).

What is the current frame rate?

Just noticed ... LOL .... original post was from November.

Your server is causing lag for me... I'm assuming it's not a North American server... and likely a slower one at that...

Anyways, a preloader will definately help... it loads the entire flash movie before it starts to play so there will be no lag... to keep people entertained during the load, there is usually some scripted or repeating animation (Load % etc...)

As for the RU at then end... personally, I think it fits with the Z-head but it's your call..

Mike.
