Import picture

Hello,

I've just finished a nice 3d environment in Cinema 4d. The next thing i want to do is to past a picture of a person IN the environment. Well, it isn't too hard to past it in photoshop, but i won't have a shadow of the person. Besides, i have used a lot of smoke effects, which won't be realistic if I just past the person in front of the picture in photoshop.

Is there any way to import a shape of a person IN Cinema 4d? Cause there isn't a 'import'-button or something.

Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

you could create a plane and use the picture of the person as a texture, then in photoshop, create an alpha texture to the shape of the person, so you won't see the square edges of the plane. Not sure how the lighting works in C4D, but if you use raytracing options, it should cast a shadow of the alpha mask on the plane, if it doesn't work, i would create an extra light, and texture a shadow texture on the light, and make it cast that where the light should be.

another method you could try is; Render out your scene in layers, so that the elements in the background is rendered in 1 layer, then things in midground, and another layer of things in the foreground, and then render out the smoke in it's own layer, then you can composite everything together, play with Depth of Field, etc.

Yeah!

I've chosen for your texture method. It's kind of logical, though! But thank you soo much ! Now i can really end my project!

Kind regards,
