Well, I hadn't bought anymore fish after the last of the Neon Tetras disappeared due to money right now. The same friend that gave me the fish tank setup stopped by however and brought me over 7 new fish for my tank to play with Red.
I have 3 of these orange Mickey Mouse Platy's along with 3 Dwarf Gourami's. I also got some type of bottom feeder but can't remember his name.
And of course, Red wasn't too happy about his new roommates. He chased them around a bit poking at them. The Gourami's are actually a tad bigger in body size though and they sometimes would poke back. The Platy's are smaller and would run.
Not sure how this group will pan out with Red's temper. We'll find out in the next episode of "Synthetic's Tank Adventures" lol.
Now just gotta think of some way to thank my buddy for his generosity. I just looked at the receipt and he got me almost $40 in fish.

Good point. He had told me that I BBQ on the grill better than anyone else he knows so that might a good plan.Quote:
Before I had left this morning... I noticed my little bottom feeder (Clown Loach) was dead. Apparently he was no match for Red. I will be returning him to the pet shop today after work. Glad they guarantee their fish for 2 weeks.Posted 02-25-2009 at 05:33 PM by synthetic

I have 1 male and 2 female Platy's. I was told this was good because the male would mate with both probably and I would have babies that would serve as food for the others most likely unless I get something to put the little guys in.
Red was poking at Gouramis but yeah... they seemed to hold their ground and would poke back sometimes. They do seem to be a tough fish and kinda neat looking too.Posted 02-25-2009 at 06:55 PM by synthetic

Is red a cichlid? Cichlids are cannibals and territorial a list of cichlids include Oscars, Jack Dempseys, and convicts. I have seen cichlids take out a Pacho which are paranah so be careful about what you put in the soup.Posted 07-02-2009 at 02:32 AM by colorswhirl
