Well, I figured it was about time for my first blog post on here. I have another
blog that I already have hard time keeping updated on regular basis so I don't know how often I will be able to post to this one.
So, what to talk about in my first post? How about photography since that has been my main interest as of recent.
I have an
portfolio on Dreamstime right now showcasing some of my better photos. Its a good place to get stock photography for reasonable prices. I first learned about it when we got accounts at work to use for advertising.
My first year, I submitted a few art pieces and a couple of photos. Those works earned a little money in sales and that inspired me to keep adding material so I could reach enough sales to actually get paid. You have to reach a certain level of earnings before they send out payments. So, currently, I am at my halfway point to getting a paycheck. Sadly, each time add photos... I get charged a small fee for keywording by
Dreamstime. This kinda makes it hard to keep your earnings up if you don't sell a lot and are submitting a lot.
Oh well, I really didn't start my photography for the money. I do it for the creative outlet it provides but... it would be nice if I could justify the cost and investment with some earnings that could help me afford more and better gear or at least pay for what I have. Maybe I will see that when I go pro next century lol. Oh well... its just another one of my passions that consumes my time and sometimes my wallet.
