so the only reason that i am able to post right now from work is that im using firefox. explorer dont like me at work. keeps crashing.
any way, this weekend I will put up some before and after pics as well as some middle steps.
perhaps i will show off some of the other macgyver fabrication that i have done around my home as well. people tend to raise thier eyebrows about my ideas until they see them. a lil for iinstance: when i moved in the house had this god awful red shag carpet...

ok. so today, I went out and got some wood stain to stain the columns that i put next to my fireplace.
(and yes I know that they make concrete stain. but its more like paint and its been my experirnce that is peels off quite easily. something about the mold release that we use.) anyhow, I tried red mahogany and it looked too purple. so I took it back and went with another color that turned out to be too light. yet another trip back to wallymart.
finally got the right color. nice and...

O.K. here it is in a lil nutshell. all the things about me that are relavent to get started.
I work for a company that makes precast concrete architectural elements. in layman's terms, I make concrete columns, fireplace surrounds (hearths, mantles etc.) trim, mouldings etc.
I have been in this and other custom fabrication companies for over 10 years and live near Las Veags, Nevada. I can go to almost every major casino and locate something that I have worked on, or made.
