went out today to wallymart and bought the coolest thing! its a popup visor for the screen on my camera. the visor piece sticks on via peel adhesive and then can be detached from the frame it not needed.
the nice thing is that it serves as a lcd protecter, and a sun visor.
check it out at Digital camera accessories and OEM flash manufacturer - Delkin Devices
only 10 bucks, and im already in love with it.
now I can shoot outside and not have to misery with the sun creating glare on my screen. I would encourage everyone to get one especially since its removable if you change your mind.

I also found out that sony makes a remote for my camera. guess what I want for my birthday?
its cabled, and can control zoom and shutter. if I get one I can take my annual newyears fireworks on the vegas strip photos faster, wthout using the timer to shoot. better control of when I shoot.
mmmmmmmmm.....aaaaagugugughg. drool

its rather nice, it just covers the lcd. has a popup lid and the side shields are spring loaded. the frame of the unit tapes to the frame of the screen, and the lid mechanism sorta slidelocks onto that. the whole unit is a bit less than as thick as a cd case so it dosent seem to get in the way. I have mostly found that it is helpfull at that time after the pic is taken, when you usually have to turn around and shade the screen to see your image. the frame also has a clear plastic panel built into it that covers the lcd screen so the screen has extra protection even if you store the camera with the popout removed.
there were 2 sizes at the store 2.5" and 3" I went with the 3". the 2.5 probably would have fit a bit better (mine overhangs the screen bezel a little but not enough to matter) but the only 2.5" they had was silver. and I wanted a black one to match my camera.

I went back to the site and I understand now why you think it was clunky. the one they show is EXPENSIVE, and HUGE and wayyyy too much in the way. here is a link to the one I got. its the minimalist version. and btw I paid half what the site is asking at walmart.
