so the only reason that i am able to post right now from work is that im using firefox. explorer dont like me at work. keeps crashing.
any way, this weekend I will put up some before and after pics as well as some middle steps.
perhaps i will show off some of the other macgyver fabrication that i have done around my home as well. people tend to raise thier eyebrows about my ideas until they see them. a lil for iinstance: when i moved in the house had this god awful red shag carpet (that i now regret tossong because it would go well with the pool table in the garage) my wife and i both wanted wood floors but they aint cheap. even fake pergo was 1.99 per square foot, and that came out to over 700 dolllars. thats not counting supplies, glue, install (if I payed for it) and maybe rigid subfloor.
my answer:: wall paneling with the real wood print on it. 12 dollars per sheet. 120 dollars and some staples for my air nailer. yeah it wont last as long, but all that means is that every 5 years or so I can cheaply redo the floor and change the look. no worries about scuffing because its not permanent. and no worries about fire embers messing up the finish. my wifes wheelchair can do real damage if she runs over something and unexpectedly drags it across the floor I would rather replace a 12 dollar sheet than rip up the whole floor. also, the job only took me about 2 hours to complete.
but i promise (gotta be carefull how i use the "P" word) I will put up pics this weekend.
foggy- I put my tv center in the corner. I will include a wideangle shot so you can see what i mean. that way the fireplace hits me at 45 degree angle I'm not stareing into it to look at tv and the glare is reduced. also then you dont see a reflection on the tube.
also: and this is in NO WAY an attempt to rustle up bizniss.
