The caveman gets broadband!

Just signed up for highspeed internet.
should be able to kick this modem in a week or so.
can you believe that? all these years at 56k



loading.......





Ah. as you can see im still using dialup.
it takes about 15-20 minutes for me to post a picture. cant wait until i dont have to wait.

    I think using a 56kbps modem would kill me now! Mind you, after so many years of 10mbps cable, I think even normal 512kbps ADSL would make me cry...

    Still, I remember during my uni days when I had a 56k unlimited dailup connection via my university and most people thought that was a godly speed. Oh dear... now i'm *REALLY* showing my age!

    of course i used to program IIe's in highschool

    Hey, I remember when the 56K was the best thing out there. My first modem was the one they had before the 14.4. Uh, not showing my age am I?

    I can remember a friend of mine had this modem for his apple, you had to take the phone off the hook and put it on a modem cradle.....

    ya.
    yeah he would put the phone on this modem cradle thing and then key in a phone number to to computer and if everything matched up right and the computer you called was on, and you had set up the proper baud rate...you could try to "talk" with it. I remember our printer was set up to recieve data at 110bit baud rate from the pc. back when 128K was a-lot of memory.
