At our house we have a birdfeeder for the sparrows and finches. they are kinda fun to watch, especially when the fledglings first start to organize some order of feeder dominance.
the seed husks I cold do without, but thats not the point of todays rambling.
We have a pair (at least) of desert dove that unlike most of the others, seem to want to come in our house. they dont fly in, just wander in like a pigeon and look around like they are gonna move in or something.
the other day I heard a noise, looked up and there they were inside again. they had moved on from courting too, and were now doing the bird nasty right there in the doorway.
I dont close the screen because my cat enjoys the freedom of going out into our gated courtyard (thats as far as he would go, he is a serious indoor cat) sometimes, he chases the birds around. being winged, they have a secure advantage over his fat, 20 pound butt. I need not worry for the birds safety.
I think they do it to mock him.
