I've been working on a new business card design for our company for a while off and on (low priority) and finally finished it. Had the quote in hand, samples etc, approval of the design etc. and bam! "can we do a different card for these employees?"

Sure.

Enter the new problem. Here I have a design done for the parent company (The Mercantile Group) and now I have to come up with a new card for the sub company (Pure Hockey) that has its own look and style...

Graphics, the Love/Hate relationship.

For me, graphics is a love/hate relationship. First off, I love doing graphics - trying to be creative and seeing the final project come out a success (most of the time) is what I live for. What I Hate are the clients. Early on when I didn't have the luxury of picking and choosing projects, I would agree to people sitting behind me while I worked and nit-picking over the tiniest pixel, or took on work that I knew was going to suck.

I'll kick off with the country singer that needed...

boredom ad nauseam

Posted 11-30-2007 at 07:04 PM by supertackyman (supertackyman's BIOblog.)

It's gonna be slow at my job until the first of the year and I'm dying of boredom. Not much to do but clean and look busy. The nice thing is that everyone gets to take an extra day off per week. a little hard on the pocketbook but it beats the alternative. Im pretty hyper so allthough I will stand around and do nothing, I would rather have too much to do.

that said, I will probably be here a lot more.

I tend to be a very happy guy, so part of me hates posting things like this, but then again it's healthy to talk about stuff that makes you uncomfortable...

3 days ago my wife called me from work (she works in a hospital). An old co-worker of hers had come in to the ER with an infection and ended up not making it (apparently she didn't have a spleen to help fight the infection). She was 30 years old (same age as my wife) had a 3 year old and a 4 month old (our kids are 20 months...
