I love food. Everything from the delicate to the robust. So I am very fortunate that my daughter's boyfriend loves to cook.

last Saturday, we were treated to a French style 11 course dinner, served with the slightly shaky hands of a chef trying a couple untested recipes. We ate outside under the stars.
The menu went as follows:

Gruyére Cheese Gougéres
Linguine with Clams
Salad of Haricots Verts and Tomato Tartare
Parisian Gnocchi...

It's been ten years since my last eye test. My husband decided after watching me hold small print at arms length (embarrassing at a restaurant) that it was time to go again. Today I'm wearing my new glasses with no-line Bi-Focals. I feel so old. I can't see anything. That's not exactly true, I can see ... but if it's not directly in the center of the lens, it's blurry as hell! Assuming, of course, that hell is blurry. If you don't move your head, but try to look left or right it's all blur...

I do know that they need regular maintenance (new timing belt and water pump at about every 45,000 miles) and they basically need a new clutch at about each 55,000. This is all well and good, but each item is very expensive, for example the clutch could reach $1500 - $2000 alone. The...

Robert Fripp has decided to do one more tour with King Crimson. This band will include the primo drummer, Gavin Harrison, from Porcupine Tree - as well as the insane talents of Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto and Adrian Belew. Awesome lineup.

I love King Crimson. Just thought I'd mention that.

They just finished rehearsing here in N'ville (Fripp stays at Belew's house which is just down the road. And yes, we watched the local Starbucks to see if we could catch Fripp...

Spring!

Posted 03-15-2008 at 10:01 PM by MoodsR4Cattle
The Robins are back, we've had a couple days in the 70's and I've got a bush with a bunch of pretty pink flowers on it. Spring! Woo Hoo!

This year though, my Tulips and Daffodils only produced leaves, no flowers.

My yard is 90% weeds. Sorrel, Henbit, Violets, Moss, and some kind of funky evergreen. Not the most beautiful sight, but it's near impossible to grow grass under the two old Sugar Maples that shade most of the front.

Time for...
