Thanksgiving is this Thursday and in lieu of the usual Tom Turkey dinner with all the usual fixin's I'm preparing what's become our traditional T'Day dinner. I don't particularly like to cook. Not that I can't, I'm not half bad, I just don't care to do it. But on special holidays I kinda look forward to making a big fancy dinner. Here's what's on the menu for Thursday:
Crab-stuffed mushrooms - early snack
Cilantro Carrot soup - appetizer
Caesar Salad - I'd thought about making the Caesar dressing, but opted for Ken's instead.
Steak A La Stone (Filet Mignon broiled & cooked in onions & pimientos)
Fettuccine Con Pesto (all fresh)
Mushrooms simmered in red wine no fancy name for that one.
Red & White wines from the Mazza Winery in North East PA. They have an Excellent Ice Wine, by the way.
Black Forest Cherry Tort - desert (from scratch Chocolate cake with Brandy glaze and Brandy frosting, Maraschino Cherries and shaved chocolate on top)
Coffee & Kahlua
How does that sound?
Happy Thanksgiving!
