New colocation server now shipped!

Posted 09-05-2007 at 06:00 PM by Man1c M0g
Yup, its all done and dusted! The brand new colocation server that will form the backbone of Biorust's future has left for the server farm and should be fully operational before the weekend. I must admit I am very nervous, however, because though I may have plenty of Linux experience, creating a server from scratch is entirely different. Nevertheless I have followed the ISPs instructions to the letter regarding IP & DNS settings, so I'm quite confident there will be no hiccups... at least until I try and get it hosting.

Just for posterity, here's the specs for the beast: Quad core Xeon X3210 CPU, 4gb DDR2-800 ram, 2* 250gb WDD-SE2 drives in RAID1, Gigabyte G33-DS3r motherboard & 6 high power (and very noisy) fans!

More updates as soon as its all safe and happy in its new home!
