'Recent Additions' Update
Ok, progress is coming along quite quickly now! I've written the main classes for accessing the database and even got the 'recent additions' box working a treat. Now I just have to write the pages that process the information & show the data and we'll be sorted!
I think I might bite the bullet and actually write the 'new images' page first. Wish me luck! I'm hoping to have all this content out into public beta in the next few weeks.
PS. If you want a look at the work in progress, take a peek over at http://www.biorust.com/indexmember.p...ember_messages . It will be in various states of construction depending on when you look at it. Oh, and the lastvisit times are set to different times to allow me to track bugs, so don't be shocked if you have tons of unread entries, etc etc.

the only thing I would suggest is some of those little arrows at the top of the chart for organizing by date or reversing that.
perhaps also one by the "comment by" section so one could see all of a particular members comments on their work.
that is if the chart remains as long as it is right now. since you did say that it will "have tons of entries" at the start.
are you planning a "remove from this list until something changes again" checkbox?Posted 01-27-2009 at 04:30 PM by supertackyman

In the final version the pages will only display relevant content since your last visit. At the moment they display all relevant content since the dawn of time. So yes, I expect the pages to be MUCH shorter in the final version.
I'll also add niceties like variable filtering later, when I have the core content working. Likewise with the checkboxes... although I still have to work out how i'm gonna get THEM working on the current database structure without killing all the other scripts that use it.
