ok so today I upgraded my work pc to xp from 2000
the install didnt take.
I reinstalled and now its a dual boot. one that works and cant find the network, printer, plotter, or web.
and one that wont boot. all my programs are on the boot folder that wont boot. theyre there but wont run because the dlls wont load.
no data was lost but i gotta manually config all the connections because our network is ooold and has static ip addys. and no one knows the passwords for admin.
im threaded and waiting to be screwed.
more later.

fixed it all by myself!!!!
by just looking at the other pcs and by finally getting the driver disks
I was finally directed to where those were by the boss today.

printer, plotter and internet.

Congrats STM!

I've never experienced the pleasure and satisfaction that you PC people get from spending hours getting things to work.

I can relate to both, although I've failed on the latter. (mine are 10 and 19)

I have a 16 year old. I've given up.
when he finally moves out I'll just buy a shovel.
less work to renovate later than to nag at him everyday.

This may be over-the-top, but with privacy being #1 for a teenager, removing their bedroom door has been an effective means of motivation. Works around here.
