blender & yafray

This is such a good combination.

A new version of of blender has just been released, it was released before SIGGRAPH 2004, when it was on show it stunned audiences at the greatest 3d conference in the world.

Blender has clearly been given a huge major overhaul. I have just discovered ts true potential and what can i say. If you ever wanted to get into 3d, get this free app. THe navigation is very tricky at first but later on, once you have gotten used to the basic controlling, you discover how effecient it truly is.

The newest release also has a new script that incorporates an excellent rendering engine. The rendering engine is called yafray. This baby can do most usual features such as radiosity and handle caustics. I still havn't found a hdri feature though.

Blender is a top application that is worth looking into if you have the time and the will to learn it.

I will probably do some basic tutorial this week, sicne im so impressed with the app.

After just a couple of hourse of figuring out how the interface works. I produced this. It took me about ten minutes from scratch. Blender is a truly awesome app. It was rendered with yafray, but it is built into the program.

I might just write a tutorial on how to create this basic pen.

Well i redid alot of what was needed to make it look cool, look in the gallery.

I have drafted a tutorial on how to make this pen with blender and yafray. It comes to a total of 12 pages, without images. It shall be complete by tomorrow. It will probably be uploaded to biorust by next week if m0g works hard enough.

If you are going to download blender make sure you get yafray as blenders raytrace engine, is terrible.

Sounds fantastic Milkdrop! I'm working on-call this weekend, but after that I should be free to upload to your hearts content. As long as your english and grammar aren't terrible, this specific tutorial could be online as early as tuesday.
