Blender has been acting up in weird ways lately, and I can't tell if it's me being noob-ish or the program messing with my head. I have been trying to model a character using the
tutorial from the blender site. This says that all I need to do to remove the crease down the middle is hit CTRL-J. I follow the tutorial exactly, but hitting CTRL-J neither removes the crease nor my duplicate vertices. Once I remove them by whatever means, I am left with an inwards crease (if I haven't removed all of them yet) or a dark line (if I have).
I have considered going through and rebuilding my faces manually, but this model is large enough that that would be as much of a pain as modeling without the instance.
If anyone is familiar with this issue, please let me know how to fix it.
I am attaching a picture of the problem, and the .blend is available for anyone who wants to look.
EDIT: It's all good now. Someone from the gallery kindly helped me out.
