Blender fun

I just downloaded it and I must admit that...
It's fun!
Can someone suggest me how to prepare a graphic file to be used as a texture for a ball without distortion?

I explain better:

I'd like to wrap a logo around a ball and let it spin =)

I'm lovin it =)

I'm still playing with it...
How can I rotate the texture (or the ball itself)?
using r i can rotate it in a strange way...
Can I use rotate with a separate axys each time (e.g. x/y/z)?

i wouldnt know how to do this since i dont use blender, blender is some for basic 3d work and for linux. If you look at the user guide it should have some instructions. I would also make sure that the texture map you are applying is very big like 1200x700 or some thing along those lines. If its small then it will be stretched and distorted.
