New Design

Hey Tichnak,

I believe that you are still ironing out the flaws of the new design. But nevertheless I post this list of things that are "wrong" at the moment. So that when you overlooked something, you might find it here.

- First page when typing in "biorust.com" shows the up and bottom of the banner, bottom on top, top against the bottom (if you get what i mean, they are switched).

- First Page, "username" reads: "$Username"

- Forum page, the left and right sides of the nav bar are misplaced(slightly below the central part).

Than something you might want to consider:
Maybe a bit less opacity on the background? Its very jumpy right now....

The header appears to be too short and is repeating on the right side.

Its not tichnak... its meeeee! And yes, there are things i'm working on at the moment. Will take me a good chunk of the weekend, but I'm getting there!

Alas I can't get any further with the design until its active, so here we are!

Oh, and don't forget to tell me what browsers you are using when you make an error report!

Okidokey, I've squashed all the bugs you identified and more.

Let me know if you spot any more! Seems to display perfectly now in Opera, IE7+, and Safari.

oops, forgot to mention the browser, sorry mog! I use firefox

And I haven't seen any glitches yet, so that's a good thing! I do really like the new design. Except for the background, but that is probably just me.

There is one thing though, but I don't know if that's an error or something else. The nav buttons appear to have some sort of blur over them, making them harder to read...

Well, I guess this site needed a new design but I have to agree with unleash, not so sure if I like this background and also the bluish colour on the nav bar, makes it hard to read.

I also miss the quick link, home, by clicking on the Biorust icon at the top.
Also hard to find the login link....

i gree with ken about the home link.
and also i find it hard to read the blue tabs witht eh white letters
black letters would stand out better i think.
other than that i like the new look so far

oh, and using firefox with 1600x1200 resolution. i noticed that in the forums area. like specifically where you are at when reding this. the moderation pulldown is just an arrow. no lettering at all.

I hear you about that one. It'll be pretty easy to add the quick home link back in. I'll get onto that soon. The login link has moved, but I don't think its that harder to find - you just need to get used to its new location.

Have no fear, the background is only a placeholder. Tichnak has a new one in the working that should be online soon.... together with several very exciting competitions too.

The blue color looks really nice on my monitor. Perhaps its a color calibration thing?

How intensely wierd! Funny thing is that this hasn't been altered at all in the template code. Its not a priority as its only gonna affect 6 users, but if I get a free moment i'll see if I can't solve this problem.

I did not find a way (firefox) to edit my profile when I am in the gallery, I can only switch from view as others and edit, but it want let me edit.

Ok. The top graphic link is now fixed. Just click on Biorust at the top of the screen and you'll be taken back to the main page.

Well spotted, and now corrected.

PLEASE let me know when and where you spot links that no longer work. Everyone browses a little differently, so I'm sure there are plenty of links I very rarely use!

i was paying my cell bill the other day and was playing with one of the display phones (a sidekick, i think)
the site came up fine except i noticed that the biorust splash logo at the top. there were 2 of them, one above of the other. then the menu tabs below that. everything else seemed normal
