Should I make a tut about this?
I made a sig a while ago with a very nice fire effect... check it out
here
.
Anyone interested in a tut about this. I'm on a roll lately... and I have a lot of spare time to fill up with useful stuff. What better than making tuts?

OOOOooooOH! Go for it - we don't have many tutorials that describe animation, and none with results as good as this...
PS. A few people were wondering how you did the sparklies on your latest Light Swirl tutorial. Did you use brushes or is there a hidden secret way of doing it?

I'm glad to hear that you are doing a tutorial on this Marlboroman! I have been working on a project that I need to create an animated fire and have had no luck coming up with something I am satisfied with......this tutorial will be extremely helpful to me!

Nice as that is, I'm not sure I'd read a tutorial on it- but others might. I'd say you should if you want to

my eyes can see it is running at about 12fps. Budge it up to about 23fps and you should have a winner.

Well, a tutorial that accounts for different framerates would be nice. I mean, if bandwidth is essential you'll want an effect with low FPS, and if its not a problem (i.e. a CD project) you'll probably want an FPS equivalent to full-motion video.
