Most people who offer brushes and similar resources for download will publish their "Terms & Conditions" in some form - have a look around on the sites where you got your brushes from.

Most are described as "free for personal use" or similar wording, which means that you can use them for your own projects but not for commercial purposes.

Of course, if you make or use a brush that contains a copyrighted image or registered trademark (e.g. Mickey Mouse or a Coca-Cola logo), that opens up a whole different legal can of worms...

That's a good question. There's nothing specifically written in the Resource Centre FAQ about using BioRUST's downloads for commercial purposes, so I'm guessing that you'd need to contact the resource creators themselves to answer that. There's probably an "unwritten" agreement that the downloads offered here are for personal/non-commercial use only, although if someone uploads a resource to this site without stating any specific terms and conditions for their use they have to accept the fact that any member could download them and use them for whatever purpose they choose.

Of course, this is only my view. Man1c M0g or others may disagree. Your mileage may vary. The value of investments can go down as well as up. All calls are recorded for training purposes. Yada yada yada...

PS: Personally, I attach no T&Cs to the resources I have contributed to this site, so you may use them for whatever you want.

Tamlin's interpretation is mostly true. All downloads offered are for non-commercial personal use only. With anything else you need to get into contact with the author. I spend quite a bit of effort trying to keep all user details current, so you should be able to contact authors through the forums or their own websites to ask them.

If you can't contact the author, its up to you whether you use them commercially or not. I'd probably take tamlin's interpretation on it.

You could of course simply make your own. Now thats fun and you have your own rights to them, if you wish share them.
