BioRUST Credits Developments
Heya peeps! As some of you have undoubtedly noticed, the current biorust credits system is ideal to get people posting initially, but once you get several dozen credits under your belt it seems that you are swimming in them and have nothing greater to aim towards! To this end I am starting a review of the credits system, with the hope that I can develop a type of 'shop' where you can spend your credits for bigger and better things. One of the items on offer will undoubtedly be the biorust t-shirt, aimed at something like 5000 credits, but I *DO* need simpler options for everything inbetween 0 and 5000 credits.
So... give me your thoughts! All sensible ideas highly appreciated!

I really gotta start to earn points noh, eh? I dig cool t-shirts as hell. But for the other options.. Maybe make it possibly to "buy" battle reservations? So you can make a reservation in more than one battle.

Advertising space might be an option. Many people sell their artwork or offer unique services. Perhaps you could promote that as something to use your credits towards.
Other ideas, perhaps people will donate resources for an elite section (where it costs more to use you credits for certain things). Obviously this would be harder to accomplish, but just a thought.
Maybe you could trade advertising space to paid font sites or other paid resources in exchange for fonts, brushes etc. to offer up for purchase with the credits.

The first one is already in use. 1000 creds for the frontpage ad if my memory isn't playing tricks on me. Btw, stripes: How do you plan on the shipping of the tshirt?

how about stickers or patches for gear and gear bags.
nothing would look better than a biorust lenscap sticker.
also this has an added bonus as a contest could be held annually for the new logo.
(please no submissions from the olympic committee.)

How about your own personal BioRust blog spot?
Or they can purchase a different 'skin' for the BioRust forum/site?
Maybe a me@biorust.com email address forwarder?
All the current downloads on a CD? Or in a zipped downloadable package?
Maybe offer something smaller than a T-Shirt for less credits, like a mouse pad, mug, BioRust thong ...

Hmm we seem to have some very good designers here, on the BioRust team. Maybe for a certain amount of points, people could commission a new avatar, or a signature image or something?

Hmm, I must say that I really like that idea Turvas....but I would say that every battle reservation(except the free one) should cost more points then the one before.
like this,
to buy the first extra one that should cost 10p,
the second 12p,
the third 14p and so on......
Then I don't think the site lay-out should cost you points, for that should be a free service....But maybe you could make people buy different background designs....different colors and different theme's.....
Then I do like the lens cap sticker(you could use those designs from the battle logo contest, then you have different colors and so!)
Oh, and then an idea of my own. I don't know how much work it is, but maybe you could set up an E-card system with the artwork of people who don't mind(someone has to check a box on submission, may be send as E-card, may not be send as E-card) and let people pay points for sending E-cards.....
my 2cents....

hi yas
.. what about galley space.
this would mean implimenting a limit of about 10 images for starters, andcredits can by more space..
love the advertising idea..
maybe even have an advertising page for banner space.
love love the ecard idea.
i think it credits are buying stuff perhaps software might be the go.. maybe have someone develop something "biorusty"
or maybe offer brushes and htings in two cats. ie standard credit brushes, and supe credit brushes.

you should def give add space to those with tons of points and it could be as simple as putting an artist or whoever on the spotlight for a day or a week highlighting their skills and services if any to the rest of our members so that they can further their careers/experiences as artists...

Maybe have something like BUMP? Bring Up My Picture. For a certain amount of points you could bring an image you choose up in the gallery as if it was just posted. So that it also shows up on the front page?

Great Idea Turvas, although you can do that now by deleting your post and reposting...
Unfortunately, you would lose any comments...

Exactly. Using the way I recommended you would keep comments (maybe get some more) and not look like a reposting *******.

I'm currently taking a look at a vbulletin-centered shop. Problem is that it'd take a degree of reprogramming to fit the biocredits algorithm. In other words... watch this space!
Ideas of things you can 'buy' greatly appreciated tho! (GREAT ideas so far, BTW!)
