Some Stupid Questions

What is a reputation for, how do you get it and what is good or bad?

What is a sig or signature, how do you use them and where do you put them?

Are there recommendation's on image size, I see a great picture and all I get is small picture and I want to see detail.

  1. This should answer your question about Reputation: http://forums.biorust.com/biorust-sp...html#post37778 (Reputation Rating, what is it about?)
  2. A signature (sig for short) is the image or tagline (or both in my case!) that appears below each post you make in the forums. You can set up your own signature from the User Control Panel (click the User CP link in the menu bar near the top of the screen). A maximum of 5 lines of text is usually regarded as the upper limit for a signature. If you use an image as your signature, limit its size to no bigger than 520px in width, 100px in height, and 75kb in filesize.
  3. There is no limit (upper or lower) on filesize for images posted in the Gallery. However, a very small image (unless it's something like a signature or an animation) may leave viewers wanting more, while a monstrously huge image will take forever to display for those who are on lower-speed connections (remember - not everyone has broadband!). Also, the larger an image is, the more obvious any imperfections, grain, noise and/or artefacts will be. A good recommendation for an image size would be somewhere in the region of one of the popular screen resolutions (e.g. 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050). Also, remember to optimize your image before uploading it (in Photoshop, select File > Save for Web...).

I may have got there first, but your Wiki entry has a lot more style and content. I'd give you some rep for it, but I need to spread some around before I can give you any more!
