I don't want to be a wet blanket (after all, this was all sparked by my idea in the first place!) but wouldn't creating the above categories just be re-inventing the wheel, as all this info is readily available in the Photoshop Help file?

I know what you mean, but my idea is that this will become a sort of 'expanded' manual, where hints and tips (together with links to tutorials) can be added to more fully explain each feature, and be editable by expert users. Very few people read manuals due to their stale design - i'm hoping we can create something a little more dynamic.

I'd vote for Notjustgraphics - he's already done some excellent work on the Wiki and has obviously taken to the formatting code like a duck to water. How about it Mike?

Sure... I'll give it a go!
So that I understand properly, we want a top level wiki page the explains quickly what the program Photoshop is and then links into the following categories:
- The tools - a description of the tools.
- Functions - literally just a breakdown of the things in the menus.
- Settings - a breakdown of things like 'feather', etc.
- Filters - A listing of the filters and what they do (with examples, of course). This could turn into quite a flashy section!
- User Submitted Tutorials - exactly what it says on the tin... a place where users can link their own tuts without admin help.
- Knowledgebase - Where problems and solutions can be placed!
Is that the correct assumption? (I wondered if it wasn't meant to be an HTML page that links into the WIKI?)
Anyways... If my first assumption is correct, I'll get started... it really is a lengthy undertaking though, i mean, to do it properly with screen captures and uploads....

Precisely right m8! Its nothing fancy - just an effective and pretty portal to other user-submitted wiki resources. Keeping it in the wiki itself is simpler than making a HTML document and linking in externally.
Many thanks for offering to do this m8 - its much appreciated!

My apologies, I havn't had the time or headspace to get it done...
I've had some extra work interfering with my free time, but I'm going to get it started this afternoon.

Ok
Sorry for the delay guys... I've had a lot on my plate these past few days... but I stole a few moments today to plop some stuff into the Photoshop Portal page ( Main Page - BioRUST Wiki)
I'll keep prodding away to flesh out the sections...
Let me know what y'all think!
Mike.

Nice work m8! I'll edit the links so that they correspond to categories soon, and then see about populating the wiki a little more before popping it into the main site menu.
