Help with finding some brushes...

BioRUST.com :: Tutorials >> Advanced 3D Abstracts

Okay, go down to step five. Do any of you guys know where I can find those brushes? I've looked and asked all over for them and I have no idea where to get them.

Thanks, jazzyfan

If you'd carried on reading that tutorial, you would have seen:

PS. If you need a source of Abstract brushes, there are tons of them all over the web, but the Biorust Downloads Section is a good place to start.
And if you look in the Biorust Downloads Section, you will see:
BioRUST.com :: Downloads >> Abstract Brushes by the Geek
and
BioRUST.com :: Downloads >> Abstract Brushes 2 by the geek

If these aren't enough for you, try: photoshop abstract brushes - Google Search

Thanks, but...

I was looking for those brushes in particular... not just some that look similar.

But thanks for looking.

And no Drifter, those aren't the ones... sorry...

How do you mean in particular?

maybe those brushes are the ones you need....(maybe the brush is in the package). And maybe its better to make something nice yourself instead of doing something someone else already did.....

Some of the brushes in that package are made by the same person who made the tutorial. I wasn't sure if they were the same brushes he used in the tutorial or not. If they aren't the same, then there could be some that are similar enough that they may work.

I agree. Your results may not look exactly the same, but there's nothing wrong with that. That's why a lot of tutorial writers don't post (give links to) the brushes/renders/cutouts they use to make their tutorials. They want you to learn the technique but they also like for you to add your own twist/variations to it.

I would, but...

See, I don't have 3-D programs to make brushes and all.

The difference between those brushes was if I used one, it would turn out actually 3-D. Every single other brush set I download doesn't do that.

Thanks for your help though.

You don't need a 3D program to make brushes - you make them in Photoshop.

I think you've misunderstood this tutorial. The "abstract brushes" referred to are merely used to add texture to the layers above and below the 3D render made in Step 1 - they are not 3D themselves.

Maybe a misunderstanding...

I'm not trying to do the tutorial.

I want to use the brushes for other purposes. I uesd to have that set but I lost it when I transferred to my new computer.

Does that clear things up some?

Thanks, Jazzyfan

Jazzy, If you give me an idea of the brushes you are looking for I have a HUGE selection of them. When I use brushes I play with different styles to make them 3-D. It gives your project your own unique touch. I hope this helps.

wow that like looking for a needle in a hayfield (i know its haystack)

they look like alot of the 100000000000000000000000000 brush sets i have seen on the net....more than likely it a random set he used....and the fact he is painting under the render and you can not really see the look of the brush it doesnt make it any easier.

i would say go a google, yahoo, etc search for his name and abstract brush or something to see if maybe he actually made them for is just using someone elses

Drifter, it was called "abstract2." But I downloaded it as part of a zip file from a website so I don't know if they changed it or not. I've looked all over the website for it but cant find it.

I'll try what SonOfSane said and see if that works.

Thanks guys.

Do you know if they were made by him? I've searched on and off the last several days for you; sadly, it looks like he deleted most of the brushes he made. Good luck! I hope you find them. You could also try contacting him and asking; his contact info is on his dA profile page. You're welcome.

I actually emailed the webmaster of that website where I downloaded them, he's checking for me at them moment.

You all have been extremely helpful. I'll let you know if the guy I downloaded them from still had them.

The style is this: it had a very 3d renderish look to it after it had been edited in Photoshop. It was called "abstract2" in my list but I don't know if that's true for you if you have them.

______

I emailed the guy and he said he'd check, and he hasn't replied back yet, so I'm thinking he doesn't have them.
