Adding +Rep Outside of the Forum

Is there a way to add reputation to someone who has been helpful through the private messaging system?

I know I can find a random post by the user that has helped me, but I understand that would be related to that specific post.

Alas not... at the moment anyway. If someone finds me a hack that allows it I know for sure that I would personally find it useful!

Is the same true for adding rep via Gallery comments? I've seen a few comments where I would have liked to reward the poster with some rep - for a particularly helpful suggestion or constructive comment, for example.

Its the same because the rep system is actually a part of the forums software. Ya never know though - eventually they may use it in the gallery software. We just need to keep prodding the coders.

Reputation points would be very helpful to reword such excelent works.
