how do i edit my profile and put my avater on.

Click on User CP in the grey menu bar near the top of the screen. Select Edit Profile and the options are in a navbar down the left hand side.

Well, if you look at the profile of our glorious leader Man1c M0g, you'll see his join date was September 2003, so I'm guessing that would be pretty much the beginning of the site.

How do you capture a sentence as a quote when you want to reply to a specific remark?

just click on the Quote button at the bottom of the post you want to quote. This will open up a Reply To Thread box with the selected post already surrounded by QUOTE tags. You can then edit it to cut out any bits you don't need.

If you mean like this:

This is a quote

just highlight the text you want to quote in the Reply To Thread box and then hit the Quote toolbar button (the one that looks like a cartoon speech bubble). This wraps QUOTE tags around the highlighted text.

Click QUOTE at the bottom of the post you wish to QUOTE.

The entire post will be placed in an edit window, surrounded by [quote] tags. You can delete the parts of the post you do not need.
