JPEG Help For Upload

I've been attempting for quite a while now to upload some layer styles and I keep getting the same message over and over that my preview picture is too big in size.

Nothing else, just an error message about my preview picture, everything else is fine.

I save it as a JPEG, 120x75 in size, just as I'm instructed. The thing is, it's KB size is too friggin big. What am I doing wrong?

Try lowering your JPG quality to about 60 percent... Photoshop will tell you in the lower right hand corner of the "Save For Web" Dialog what the end file size will be.

You may be able to adjust the Quality bar up or down to get it just right... (I don't know what the exact limit is).

JPG's around 60% are usually quite good especially at small sizes.

Do they have to be jpeg ,cos if you savetoweb as a gif, the file size is reduced a lot without much quality loss.
