I notice once again we have had two members flooding the Gallery with (between them) 26 images in one day. I'm not doubting the quality of their work, but is it really necessary to carpet-bomb the Gallery in this way?

If Man1c M0g is reading this, perhaps he'd like to comment?

I think the carpet bombing is a great comparison even if you later on drop food packages in the same area everyone thinks it are carpet bombs!!

And yes i do hope man1cmog does stop such actions or maybe an other idea just on post per person per day on the front page...that you can post as much as you like but that only your last image will get in the front page thing.....so a per artist system!!

That's OK - I think the majority of the posts here get the message across.

Yes, this seems to happen to often these days! Some members just like to flood the gallery. This is what they say in Worth1000.com | Photoshop Contests | Are you Worthy™ | home page
“Instead of entering 5 entries of just decent quality, take the time it would have taken to make 5 to make 1 or 2 really good ones instead. We will all appreciate that.”
So if it’s not technical possible, maybe some words could do!

Well, it does actually say this in the BioRUST Forum Rules:
  • Correct use of the Community Gallery: Please avoid flooding the gallery with large quantities of similar pictures and/or photographs.

But how many people have bothered to read the Forum Rules...?

Not many I can tell you that.People these days don't care about the rules anymore and that's a bad thing. They completely ignore them.I hope times will change and ppl will give more attention to RULES,cause they are very important in keeping order.
This is my oppinnion

Some forum rules are easier to enforce than others. Obviously, if a member is flouting rules designed to ensure the integrity of the Forum - such as spamming, flaming other members publicly or posting illegal or inappropriate material - they can (and will) be dealt with severely, but I don't want to see anyone's creativity stifled by a heavy-handed approach. I just want to see them exercise a bit of self-restraint - is that too much to ask?

Unfortunately, the rule is rather vague. "A large quantity" can be interpreted very differently from one person to the next. Restraint is a lost art.

The best way to handle this is to have a limit imposed through software. Possibly 3 / 24 hour period. Unless I'm mistaken, it's the new registrants that go berserk and want to upload everything they've ever created in one fatal swoop. Once they've exhausted their catalog they upload only one or two thereafter - if they come back at all. A daily limit would keep them coming back on a regular basis (at least for a while) and they just might participate in the forum more often.

Just some random thoughts

Apparently those who are guilty of this offense do not read this forum or have not read the rules. Maybe a soft email warning would be all thats necesssary.

Well i did, not all of them but the most i geuss

But still as said before those rules are pretty vageu.....so.
I think the way classact said it won't really work, as i think some of the "carpet bombers" are gone after let's say 8 posts so then the damage is done already. It maybe sounds stupid but i think ,if it's possible and woudn't take to much of mogs time the, my idea isn't that bad...i mean like just your last uploaded work on the main screen, so if you upload like 10 pics then only the 10th will be seen on the main page.....except if 10 other users post there pics as well but that aint the problem i think.

Well hope you agree with me....

Nice idea peeps! I've added a max daily upload limit of 5 pictures. We'll trial this and see how it goes. Let me know how you get along with this new rule peeps!

Not to be unthankful Man1c M0g, I appreciate the way you respect your members opinions and respond quickly!

However, i think uploading 5 images in one day is what is causing our frustration... A limit more like 3 or even 1 per day is what I was hoping for....

But maybe people will get the hint and exercise some self-control...

Here's hopin'!

Mike.

Im hoping with you mike,
I think also think 5 is to much(if this "carpet bombing" continues). That's mainly because the front gallery has only 12 pages so 2 artists could almost post the whole thing full!!
