Scratch Discs Are Full...?

When I try to create a new document, I get an error message stating the "Scratch Discs Are Full", anyone know what this means and/or how to correct this problem?

Many thanks from this newb.

PS requires some free space on HDD to run. It seems that your HDD is full or your partition is full. If you have two or more partitions try to change scratch disk to one who have more space.

Photoshop uses your computer's RAM to store information about the image you're currently working on. If Photoshop runs out of available RAM, it uses your hard drive space to store this information - the so-called "scratch disk".
One solution would be to install more RAM, although the best solution of all is to install a second physical hard drive and use that just as a scratch disk, but I realise that not everyone can run to that. Otherwise, it's a case of freeing up some space on your existing HDD. The general rule is that you should have approximately three to four times the amount of hard drive space than the file size of the image that you are working on.

This is the "official" answer, from the Adobe knowledge base:

in the older photoshop it will usually say your scratch disk is located in the same volume or partition as your system pagefile and could cause a problem. now it seems its no longer a problem having photoshop's scratch disk and windows pagefile on the same partition, but i think it is a good practice to have your scratch disk on another partition or entirely separate hard drive. i had my hard drive have a 30Gb partition just for my scratch disk. so far it suffice for me. hope this helps together with the previous posts above.
