What's the time, Mister Mog?

I've noticed this a few times now - the time displayed by the forums seems to be incorrect, both in terms of post times (apparently I posted a reply in two hours time!) and the clock at the base of the page.

And I know it's a bit trivial to post a new topic on, but there wasn't a "general queries" thread or anything like that (which helps reduce random topics), or a related thread that I could hijack.

User CP > Edit Options

Simple problem, simple fix. Go into your User CP and click Edit Options. You just have to configure your board settings. Then it's done.

That was the first thing I tried. You can offset the hours, but not the minutes - it's 12:07 PM here, but Biorust says that it's actually 1:45 AM.

And since Mog and I are in the same country, I'd assume that the server would be set to GMT anyway, so I shouldn't need to adjust anything. But even so, I can't change the minutes.

Ahhh, well, its quite simple - the forums (and, in fact, everything on this server) are set to the timezone of the server hosting it. In this case, its Oregan (I think), which is in Pacific Standard Time. I might be wrong tho.... I'm not in Oregan to be able to manually tweak it!

I believe the server gets time from the CMOS on the motherboard itself, however linux being versitile, you may be able to have it manually adjust it's timetables. I have never had to do so, however it should be possible within SSH.

I have never had to do that, since I have only messed with LINUX locally... however I did know that it could be done.

Actually, i've found what you guys have just said very interesting. Quite informative, keep up the asking questions and pointing out problems... other people learn.
